Dave Bordewey first started writing songs before he ever picked up a fiddle and sings such a wide variety of songs from a repertoire that spans over 30 years. Dave is a one time singer songwriter with a love for British traditional music and a passion for mainly Irish style fiddle playing.
His song writing has been overshadowed for many years by the traditional side of life but has come to feature more strongly as the need to provide all round 'Folk' entertainment at their barn dances. Much of this new audience has little or no knowledge of traditional songs but like to hear the odd song in the dance intervals. The Dave's are happy to oblige as they just love to play their own brand of songs and tunes.
Dave Young became interested in folk music at the age of 18, having seen a morris side performing outside his local pub in Surrey. The following year he joined Cup Hill Morris Men first as a dancer, and later learnt the melodeon and Anglo-concertina. He also played with several barn-dance bands in the South-East of England before moving to Malvern in 2000.
Dave is also the founder member of Malthouse Passage, his own band.
